With a prestigious gold medal in Mechanical Engineering (Practicals) earned at the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, Mr. B. Kasiviswanathan laid a strong foundation for his illustrious career.

His professional odyssey commenced with Bharat Electronics Ltd, and he further extended his expertise to the Indian Ordnance Factories Service. Eventually, he found his calling in the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers (IRSME), where he scaled new heights.
Nodal Leadership
Mr. Kasiviswanathan served as the Chairman of the Railway Recruitment Board in Bengaluru for an impressive tenure spanning over five years. As the nodal chairman, he orchestrated a monumental achievement by successfully conducting the world’s largest computer-based test, accommodating a staggering 2.37 crore candidates nationwide. His innovative thinking also gave birth to a comprehensive end-to-end online indenting and recruitment management system, a significant milestone for the Railway Recruitment Board.

Kasiviswanathan’s professional journey spans nearly three decades, encompassing a wide array of sectors, showcasing his adaptability. His expertise extends across various domains, including E- Governance, IoT, AI & ML, Vigilance, Rolling Stock Maintenance, Project Management, System Study, Optimization, Material Management, Finance, Costing, and Human Resource Management.

Before taking the helm at Cochin Port, Mr. Kasiviswanathan held the crucial position of Chief Vigilance Officer at ITI Ltd, under the Ministry of Telecommunication. During this phase, he played a pivotal role in streamlining production, operations, human resources, contract management, and project management systems, leaving an indelible mark of efficiency and progress.

Kasiviswanathan takes charge of Cochin Port Authority, his remarkable journey through various sectors and his penchant for innovation and streamlined systems promise to be valuable assets in steering the port toward a bright future. It may also be recalled that just 15 days back CoPA had got a new Commisioner of Customs Gurkaran Singh Bains. He too has a diverse experience. The new combination is expected to bring in a big transformation for ease of doing business and an increase in transparency in Governance.
