Dubai, UAE – November 13, 2023 – The Maritime Standard Awards celebrated its tenth anniversary in grand style at The Atlantis on The Palm, Dubai, on Tuesday, November 7th. The event, held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman Emirates Airline and Group, attracted a record-breaking attendance of over 1100 guests.

The evening was filled with excitement and glamour, with guests enjoying a Greek-themed gala dinner and top-class live entertainment. The keynote speech was delivered by Capt. Mohammed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director & Group Chief Executive of Abu Dhabi Ports Authority, who lauded the Maritime Standard Awards for setting the benchmark for quality and integrity in the maritime industry.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of 32 awards, recognizing excellence across various aspects of the maritime industry. ADNOC L&S emerged as a big winner, bagging four trophies, while Bahri took home three prestigious awards.

Individual achievements were also celebrated, with Idris Shahpuralla of Saifee Ship Spare Parts and Chandlers receiving the Young Person in Shipping Award, Catriona Jayasundera of Colombo International Container Terminals being honored as Woman in Shipping, and Captain Ammar Al Shaba of AD Ports Group recognized for Outstanding Achievement. Dr. Anil Sharma of GMS was presented with the Excellence Award, Eng Ahmed Alsubaey of Bahri was named Personality of the Year, and Rashid Isa Rishi Al Heddi of Seamaster Maritime was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Trevor Pereira, Managing Director of The Maritime Standard, expressed his gratitude to the industry for its unwavering support over the past decade. He also extended his appreciation to all the guests for making the tenth-anniversary celebration a memorable one.
