Brave Indian Navals of Ship Anmol Provided First Aid and Safely Transported Survivor to Bangladesh Coast Guard Ship – Maritime News

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has rescued a Bangladeshi fisherman who was adrift at sea for over a week. The fisherman, identified as Md. Salim, was rescued by ICG Ship Anmol on November 23, 2023.

Salim had been adrift since November 17, 2023, when his fishing boat was capsized during Cyclone Midhili. He was found clinging to a piece of debris by ICG aircraft that were conducting a search and rescue operation in the area.

Salim was provided with first aid and food and water on board ICG Ship Anmol. He was then transferred to ICG Ship Varad, which is currently en route to Bangladesh. Salim will be handed over to the Bangladesh Coast Guard upon arrival.
