Mumbai : DP World, a global leader in end-to-end supply chain solutions, celebrates a remarkable achievement as its Nhava Sheva Business Park (NSBP) secures the prestigious Platinum certification from The Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). This recognition marks NSBP as the first Free Trade Warehousing Zone (FTWZ) in India to achieve the esteemed Platinum certification under the IGBC logistics parks and warehousing rating system.

Strategically situated near the port, NSBP serves as a pivotal hub facilitating global trade interactions with the Indian market and vice versa. Operational since 2022, NSBP’s Platinum certification signifies a significant advancement for the Indian-Global trade ecosystem, offering sustainable supply chain solutions to its clientele.

Spanning across 2 million square feet, NSBP adheres to global standards and Green Building Certification requirements, promoting natural habitat and biodiversity on-site. The facility boasts several sustainable features contributing to its Platinum certification, including a 1.5MW Solar PV system covering 18.6% of annual energy consumption, 100% electric material handling vehicles, water-efficient fixtures resulting in 38.9% water savings, rainwater harvesting, and a notable 75% reduction in construction waste through efficient reuse and recycling practices.

Ranjit Ray, Vice President – Economic Zones, Middle East, North Africa, and Subcontinent, expressed his elation, stating, “The IGBC Platinum certification is a pivotal milestone in NSBP’s journey. It underscores our steadfast commitment to eco-friendly practices that benefit both our customers and the environment. Prioritizing customer needs, we endeavor to deliver sustainable and scalable logistics solutions.”

NSBP, among the pioneering port-based Free Trade Warehousing Zones in India, leverages its strategic proximity, a mere 5 km from the Nhava Sheva Port, to streamline cargo movements. This strategic advantage ensures seamless multimodal connectivity and swift access to global markets, including the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, East Asia, and Far West markets, unlocking international trade gateways. Offering six operational warehouses ranging from 140,000 to 185,000 square feet, NSBP caters to diverse business requirements and provides specialized, temperature-controlled warehousing solutions for various industries.

Globally, DP World remains committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 and net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, with an interim target of a 28% reduction in carbon footprint by 2030. This commitment underscores DP World’s dedication to sustainable operations and environmental stewardship.
