Goa: The Annual Joint Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief Exercise 2023 (AJHE-23) ‘CHAKRAVAT’ concluded at Goa, showcasing a remarkable demonstration of multi-agency capabilities at the Port of Mormugao. The exercise, hosted by the Indian Navy from October 9 to 11, brought together teams from various national agencies, including NDRF, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, and State Fire Services, Goa.

The demonstration at Mole Berth highlighted drills on rescue and relief, emphasizing the collaborative efforts of NDRF, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force, Indian Coast Guard, and State Fire Services, Goa. The exercise aimed to enhance preparedness for responding to disasters and emergencies.

AJHE-23 witnessed the active participation of several national agencies, foreign countries, and representatives from friendly nations. The event commenced with a seminar on October 9, focusing on discussing synergy in responding to climate change and associated disaster adaptation and mitigation.

A Table-Top Exercise conducted on October 10 brought together representatives from all participating agencies and delegates from eight friendly foreign countries. The exercise simulated a scenario of a cyclone making landfall in Goa, leading to flooding and widespread destruction. Participating agencies engaged in collaborative discussions and presented joint plans for rendering humanitarian assistance, laying the groundwork for future coordinated responses.

An Industrial Display organized by FICCI on October 10 showcased cutting-edge Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) equipment from both public and private sectors, highlighting India’s readiness to contribute to global disaster response efforts.

The discussions and collaborative efforts during the three-day exercise paved the way for better coordination between various agencies during Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) scenarios. The Logo for AJHE-23, symbolizing unity, depicted crests, and logos of all participating agencies, along with flags of all nations, merged into one single entity. This visual representation emphasized the importance of joint and integrated action by all agencies during HADR operations.

The exercise not only showcased the capabilities of each participating organization but also strengthened diplomatic ties, as representatives from eight friendly foreign countries actively participated. The successful collaboration during CHAKRAVAT 2023 sets a positive trajectory for future joint efforts in disaster preparedness and response.
