Sankhali, Goa : In a significant step towards enhancing healthcare and promoting wellness in Goa, Goa Shipyard Ltd. (GSL) inaugurated the “Cancer Care Project & Ayurveda for Farmers” under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative. The project was launched at the hands of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, in the presence of Chairman & Managing Director of GSL, Brajesh Kumar Upadhyay, along with distinguished dignitaries, local Sarpanchs, Councillors, and Farmers.
This comprehensive project aims to address two critical areas of healthcare in Goa: cancer care and well-being for farmers. The Cancer Care Project will provide financial assistance to cancer patients from underprivileged backgrounds, ensuring they have access to the necessary treatment and support. Additionally, the project will organize awareness campaigns and workshops to educate the public about cancer prevention and early detection.
On the other hand, the Ayurveda for Farmers initiative focuses on promoting the holistic health and well-being of the agricultural community. It will provide farmers with access to free Ayurvedic consultations, treatments, and medicines, empowering them to maintain their health and vitality while ensuring their continued contribution to Goa’s agricultural sector.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant commended Goa Shipyard Ltd. for its commitment to social responsibility and its efforts to address critical healthcare issues in the state. He emphasized the importance of early detection and timely treatment for cancer, highlighting the project’s potential to save lives and improve the quality of life for cancer patients.
